Llanwenog sire gets thumbs up for X bred lambs on Devon Farm
After being impressed with Llanwenog tame lambs purchased from the Blackhall flock, David Mallett of Sticklepath, Okehampton decided to make a further purchase of a Llanwenog ram. He chose one bred by the Nell flock which he ran with 39 Cheviot cross & Suffolk cross ewes.
He reports that the ram worked well & marked all 39 ewes. Lambs were born easily & suckled readily & at a young age are showing good shape & length. David is certainly impressed with the lambs & is already considering the purchase of a second Llanwenog ram.
David farms next door to Lawrence Jones, Blackhall (380) & is a sheep farmer & agricultural contractor.
