Three Counties Show, Malvern, 19th June 2011

30 entries were forward for scrutiny by Mr Arfon Williams from North Wales to Judge. Top of the line in the Rams was Mrs May Clegg’s exhibit, followed by Huw & Lynwen Jenkins in 2nd and 3rd and May in 4th. Honours in the Ram Lamb Class went to Huw and Lynwen Jenkins with both 1st and 2nd, with May Clegg in 3rd and Jill Bennett 4th. The competition in the Ewe Class was strong, with Mr Williams opting for the James & Sue Money-Kyrle’s ewe for 1st prize , with May Clegg in 2nd and 4th and Huw and Lynwen Jenkins in 3rd. In the ewe lamb class, Mr Williams favoured the Gwynfaen ewe lamb with Jill Bennett in 2nd and May Clegg in 3rd. The Group of Three went to May Clegg, with Gwynfaen flock in 2nd and Maggie Wilson (Pessall) in 3rd.

Champion and Society rosette was awarded to the ewe of James and Sue Money-Kyrle, with May Clegg’s 2nd place ewe taking the Reserve Champion. Further success followed for the Champion Ewe at she came out top in the Interbreed Championship. Congratulations to the Ruardean Flock on this outstanding achievement. Yet another successful day to note for the Llanwenog Sheep Society.

A mention too for Heledd Jenkins (Gwynfaen) for her success in the Young Handler’s Competition being placed 4th out of 22 handlers.
