Young Handlers Royal Welsh 2011
It is with great pleasure that we report more success for the Llanwenog Breed in the shows, this time for Heledd Jenkins and her 2 year old Ram, Luc, who scooped the top award in the Junior Section of the Young Handlers at the Royal Welsh Show. The competition was fierce, to say the least, with 26 competitors in the class. Heledd has been showing Llanwenog Sheep since the age of 4, and now, aged 9, she has gained a wealth of experience in the show ring, not only competing in Wales, but in England as well.
The Judges this year were Mr Glyn King and Mrs Gaenor Isaac-Burrows of Llanelli, who took a while to come to their decision, eventually awarding 1st prize to Heledd. She was presented with an engraved Crystal Tankard and a Border Fine Arts Ornament, which I am sure will be treasured in the Jenkins household. Well done Heledd! Llongyfarchiadau Mawr!
A mention too for Gethin Morgans, Glwydwern, who was shortlisted in his Class.
