February 2011 Newsletter
CHAIRMAN’S INTRODUCTION – Mr Huw Jenkins
First and foremost, I would like to thank members for the honour of being elected Chairman and promise to do my utmost to promote and support the Llanwenog breed to ensure that it is a breed which has a secure and prosperous future, as well as a successful past. But I cannot do this alone, and would encourage all members to play their part in this to ensure that the Breed and the Society itself prospers and flourishes in the years to come. It is a very competitive market out there, with dozens of other breeds vying to attract new members, so it will not be easy, by any stretch of the imagination. However, all you need is to have a passion for the breed, like I have had for the past 25 years, then it seems to come naturally.
I am particularly pleased by the inclusion of a Llanwenog Class at the Smallholder & Garden Festival in Builth Wells in May this year. As this is the first year that we have had a class in our own right, I would encourage members to attend if at all possible to support, and even better if they can bring an entry or two. For those of you who have not yet ventured into the Show Ring, please remember that help and advice is always available from your Area Representative.
I hope that lambing is going well (for those of you that have started) and look forward to hearing from you if you have any matter whatsoever that you wish to discuss with me.
Thank you/ Diolch
