Spring 2015 Newsletter
If you’ve registered ram lambs, certificates have been enclosed. Please note that certificates are only issued once from now on as proof that rams have been registered with the Society not for ownership purposes.
Keep certificates safe. If there is a change of ownership it will need to be forwarded to the new owner. If you request a new certificate you may be charged an administration fee.
Thank you for your co-operation and patience.
The Flock Book is in the final stages of preparation. Only members who have sent their returns in and paid membership up to date will have details put in the Flock Book. To check if your subscription is up to date please check with your bank.
Royal Welsh Show 2015 – New Sheep Deposit System
The RWAS will be implementing a Sheep Deposit System this year due to more than one hundred pens over-subscribed by the close of entries last year and then 850 exhibits not coming forward at the event.
Therefore the Society (RWAS) has decided to introduce a deposit system for the sheep entries this year, whereby an exhibitor will be charged an extra £30 deposit per exhibit on top of their entry fee. If the exhibit is forward at the Show or if the exhibitor cancels prior to 1st July, the money will be refunded in full. This system has been successfully implemented in the Cattle Section for many years and they hope you will support this new entry process.
The Working Committee has decided to implement a ruling that Official Judges will only judge at ONE Show per year. It is the responsibility of individuals to adhere to this ruling.
Registering 2015 Ram Lambs and Ewe Lambs
‘W’ will be the letter for Registering Ram Lambs and Ewe Lambs. It would also be very useful if you include your Llanwenog Sheep Society’s Flock Number as well as your UK Number
i.e. UK123456 107 W123.
We are looking for Members interested in manning the Trade Stand at various events throughout the year. Members would benefit from entry passes to the events. If you are interested please contact the Secretary for more information.
Closing date for the Flock Competition is the 1st of September; NO late entries will be accepted. Judging will commence early September. The Judge this year will be Mr Lawrence Jones of Blackhall Flock (380).
The entry form and rules for the lambing competition has been reviewed by the Working Committee, available to view on the website.
When contacting the Secretary whether through correspondence or telephone, please use your Society Flock Number and Prefix.
