3c salisburycup 2013

Salisbury Cup presented
by Margaret & Maurice Brain

The RBST is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year and the Malvern Showground event provides a great showcase for the full spectrum of Native breeds of sheep. Llanwenog dedicated classes provide good publicity for the breed at this event.

There were 6 exhibitors entered into classes and stock was judged by Margaret Brain (Whiteparish Flock). She had the added pleasure of presenting the breed champion with the ‘Salisbury Trophy’ - a cup sponsored by herself and her husband, Maurice, especially for this show.

Llanwenog Sheep Society show stand 2013

New Llanwenog Sheep Society Stand

Formally known as the Smallholders show, this event is geared towards providing info and advice on native breeds suitable for small scale farmers. This show marks the start of the summer show season and as always was packed with visitors. So what better venue for the inaugural appearance of the new look show stand. Together with some pens of smart stock from the Alltgoch flock, it attracted plenty of comment, with many people remarking on how clean and tidy/polished it looked. It also grabbed the attention of the stewards who awarded it 2nd prize in the best stand category.

The sheep themselves were in the rings with a dedicated show class.
