The Welsh Museum of History have a resident flock of Llanwenog to add authenticity to the demonstration of traditional rural life.
St Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff celebrates all things related to Welsh Life over the ages. Our visit here combined exploring this amazing living museum with traditional craft demonstrations and a chance to look around St Fagan castle (a Grade 1 Elizabethan Manor House) and many reconstructed original buildings from different historical periods (going back to Celtic times) set in 100 acres of parkland.
We met up with the farm manager and had a thoroughly enjoyable tour round the well managed Llanwenog flock at St Fagans. We learnt that high welfare standards and easy to manage sheep are a must as the visiting public are quick to point out any irregularities and like to get involved with stock tasks!
